Pennsylvania generally gives injury victims two years from the date of the injury to file a lawsuit. Miss the deadline and the claim is barred, no matter how strong it was.
Important exceptions
- Claims against government entities require notice within six months
- Medical malpractice may involve a discovery rule and a certificate of merit
- Minors generally have until two years after turning 18
- Wrongful death and survival claims run from the date of death
